Become a member

Nice that you want to become a member of ASDV Bonaparte! We are a friendly association where nothing is compulsory and everything is possible. We have no hazing or mandatory attendance and membership costs only 50 euros per year. You can register here. If you are not sure yet whether you want to become a member, here are some arguments to convince you:

But first, we had a total of over 200 members join ASDV Bonaparte this year, and of course that is cause for celebration! Although only 70 of the 200 are active members, it does ensure that we all get to know each other and have a good time together. Our 250-member anniversary is no longer far away, and of course we would love to have you there.

And now then, why should you become a member of Bonaparte?

From left to right is our longest active member, our current secretary and our newest member.

Making friends

Bonaparte is a small association with about 70 active members. You get to know each other quickly and are easily included in the group. Bonapartians are diverse in nationality, study background, interests and political affiliation. So in no time you will make friends that suit you!

Participating in activities

Skills for life

Debating is not only fun but also very useful to learn. You'll learn to speak comfortably in front of groups and come up with good arguments quickly. That's how you win every discussion! You also learn to think critically about social issues, something that will come in handy for the rest of your life.

Specially for new members

Open Evenings – You can always come by, but especially on the open evenings. We have show debates and always explain plenary how debates work. Of course, you also quickly get to know other interested people there. These evenings take place in September and January

First Years Weekend – In October/November is the first years weekend, where all new members get to go along to a place in the Netherlands. It is a weekend without debating, but with games, campfires and good food. The time to get to know each other.

Beginnerscourses – Every first Tuesday of the month, and throughout the month of September, there will be beginner courses to teach so that anyone can start debating right away.
