Courses and moderating from Bonaparte
Debating is a versatile activity that requires many qualities. This allows us as Bonaparte to offer a wide variety of courses on debating, public speaking and writing. The courses of Bonaparte are composed by the board of Bonaparte and the course giver. The client is always included in this process. We provide customizations and are happy to adapt. The course design always takes into account a good alternation between theory and practice. After all, debating is a skill, so you will have to practice that too!
Why Bonaparte?
Our course instructors debate weekly at a competitive level at tournaments and our debate night. They are not only experienced, but also still have fun debating. For the training sessions, they are prepared by attending training sessions themselves. In addition, they are assisted by experienced members.
Your purchase allows us to move the association forward. It allows us to invest in our own social activities and debate quality. In doing so, your money benefits a large group of students, and that too is a nice bonus.

Debate workshops
This course focuses on the different parts of debating. You can discuss the basics in about two hours. Besides theory, there is of course plenty of room for practice. Should you have an advanced group, we will adapt the theory and practice to that.
Specialized workshops
Debating involves many skills, and we can also zoom in specifically on one point. Then we go into more depth and have exercises that connect specifically to these skills. Examples of specialized workshops are:
- Presentation techniques
- Persuasion and argumentation
- Structured writing
- Arguing on specific topics, such as economics
- Eloquentia
- Moderating
Moderating
Do you have a debate with a large group of people? Even then you can hire us as debate leader. We help in the preparation with advice on the format and propositions, if desired. During the debate we make sure that everyone gets a chance to speak and that the right content is exchanged.
Judging
Especially for high school debate groups, we also have the possibility to come and judge debates. This way, students get feedback from experienced debaters who themselves regularly attend school tournaments.
